The League of Women Voters of Oxford will host a virtual program titled “Let Ohio Women Vote!” 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16.

Kimberly Hamlin, Miami University professor of history and global & intercultural studies, will cover the highlights of the fight for women’s suffrage. It is based on the film “Let Ohio Women Vote,” which was funded by the Ohio Humanities to celebrate 100 years of the 19th Amendment. The program can be accessed through this link.

The documentary originally aired on PBS in November 2021 and is now available to watch online here. Those who wish to attend the LWV talk can watch the documentary beforehand, but it is not required.

Hamlin will provide insight into how the women featured in the film were chosen, the background stories of those women and what lessons were learned that provide guidance for women today. This event is free and open to the public. Participants can join using this link.
