The Oxford Lane Library is offering a variety of book clubs covering multiple genres and age groups over the next several months. 

Starting Nov. 21, enjoy the “Third Thursday Book Club.” For lovers of modern and historical fiction, this club will go from 3 – 4 p.m. Each ‘third’ Thursday of the month, members will  gather at the library, 441 S. Locust St., to talk about four different books.

For the month of November, the club will  read “Keeper of Lost Things: A Novel,” by Ruth Hoban. On Dec. 19, it will discuss “The Adults,” by Caroline Hulse. On Jan. 16, “The Book of Troublesome Creek,” by Kim Michele Richardson will be the subject, and finally, Feb. 20, “Evvie Drake Starts Over,” by Linda Holmes, will be studied.

If you’re a fan of books and beer, “The Book Cru” will be your go-to. From 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., meet at Books & Brew, 107 E. Church St., for a novel and a cleverly paired beverage. With food, drink, and conversation, this gives a whole new meaning to book club!

There are four different books for the four different dates: (Nov. 19), “The River,” by Peter Heller; (Dec. 17); “All Systems Red”, by Martha Wells; (Jan. 21); “The Lager Queen of Minnesota,” by J. Ryan Stradal; and (Feb. 18), “Th1rt3en,” by Steve Cavanaugh.

And lastly, for some mother and daughter time, come by “ChickLits: Mother-Daughter Book Club.” An intergenerational book club, focused on girl-powered novels for ages 8-11, this club can be found at the library from 6 – 7p.m. on Thursday, once a month.

Similar to the other clubs, members will read four different novels. Read “The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl,” by Stacy McAnulty (Nov. 21); “Front Desk,” by Kelly Yang (Dec. 13); “Winterhouse,” by Ben Guterson; and finally, “Wizardmatch,” by Lauren Magaziner (Feb. 21).
