The Kiwanis Club of Oxford has postponed its annual Chili Supper, which was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 23, until further notice due to COVID-19, mask mandates, and uneasiness about future school closings, according to a release issued by the organization.

The popular fundraising event, to support the Kiwanis charitable support of local educational and community activities, was to have been held at Talawanda High School. The school district shut down for two days last week because of COVID-caused absenteeism.

Postponement of the chili supper was done “to protect anyone who planned to attend,” the release said. Anyone who has already purchased tickets for the event should contact the Kiwanis member who accepted their donation.
