Starting Dec. 13, the City of Oxford to give the gift of free parking

Charis Whalen

Oxford generated over $430,000 in parking citation revenue in 2023.

From 9 a.m. Dec. 13 until 8 p.m. Dec. 31, parking meter fees throughout the city will be waived in the spirit of the holiday season. Meters will return to normal at the start of the new year.

Although fees will be waived during this two and a half week period, the two-hour and 10-hour restrictions for parking meters shall remain in place, according to the city. The move is meant to encourage shoppers and others enjoying holiday activities Uptown, where most meters are located.
