To vote in this year’s Nov. 2 election, Ohioans must register to vote by Oct. 4 if they are not already registered. Those who are unsure if they are registered to vote in Butler County can check their status on the Butler County Board of Elections website

Butler County offers two options to register to vote or to update one’s information. The first is to mail in this form to the county Board of Elections, 1802 Princeton Road, Suite 600, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.

The second option is to register online. To do this, voters needs their name, date of birth, address, Ohio driver’s license or identification card number and the last four digits of their social security number.

Early voting in Ohio begins Oct. 5. Voters can request an absentee ballot, or vote early in-person at the board of elections office.  The state of Ohio allows anyone to vote early for any reason. The schedule for early in-person voting can be found here

Miami University students who wish to vote by mail for elections in their hometowns should request an absentee ballot from their home county’s board of elections. Students who come from out of state should consult their state’s secretary of state’s website for information on registering to vote and early voting.
