Track and Field

Finley McLear, who runs the 800-meter race for the Miami University RedHawks, competes in the Muller British Athletics Championships, June 25, 26, and 27, in Manchester England, in what is a run-up to the British Olympic Trials. 

McLear, a British citizen, finished fourth in the NCAA championships in Eugene, Oregon, last week. His Miami teammate, Olivia Bechtel, had the 14th fastest time in the semifinal round of the 400-meter event for the U.S. Olympic trials on June 19, in Eugene. She did not advance to the finals.

Swimming

The Miami Makos swimming club competes in the Open Water Championships, sponsored by the Cincinnati Aquatic Club, on June 30, at Voice of America Park, West Chester.
