Oxford Community Arts Center holds virtual concert May 14

Duo Rocha Gandara is scheduled to perform in a virtual concert from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday, May 14 on the Oxford Community Arts Center’s YouTube channel.
The duo of João Rocha on piano and Paula Gândara providing the vocals, capture and mix the Brazilian Songbook elements, while influenced by Classical Music lyricism and expression. The concert will feature songs from their first album, “Reflexion of Time,” released after their first European Tour during the Summer of 2019.
João Rocha has been establishing himself as an exciting conductor, composer, arranger and pianist in demand with orchestras and musicians in Brazil, the USA, and Europe. He is the founder, music director and conductor of the Oxford Chamber Ensemble and also serves as the assistant conductor to the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
Paula Gândara is a published author, poet, dancer and singer. She is also a multifaceted artist from Lisbon, Portugal, living in the USA since 2000. Gândara is a Professor of Lusophone Studies at Miami University.
