After a year of the pandemic, climate change and social tumult, the Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) is reaching out for artwork submissions that address the theme of “Peace and Quiet” for an upcoming juried exhibit.

Artists within a 50-mile radius of Oxford are invited to submit applications to present their work for the themed juried exhibition at OCAC. Applications will be accepted until June 1.

This exhibit, scheduled for Aug. 13 through Sept. 2, will consist of both 2D and 3D work. Awards will be included and given to first, second and third place with the potential of a solo show for the first place winner.

Whether real or imagined, formal or conceptual, the center is looking for work that exhibits a more contemplative, even meditative, approach according to its description of the exhibit. Work chosen for the show must have been created by the artist within the past three years and not been exhibited within a 50-mile radius of Oxford within the previous 12 months.

Each artist may submit from one to three pieces per application. If desired, an artist may apply more than once to submit additional pieces — up to three per application. There is a $20 fee per application.

If an artist’s work is selected, they will be notified and a contract will be sent. Accepted artworks will be insured while they are at the OCAC. Artists are responsible for transportation and insurance while art is in transit.

Additional details regarding submission can be found on the OCAC webpage.
