The COVID-19 pandemic has made life particularly difficult for Miami’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) students, because it has limited the access to lab space at the university. Social distancing means fewer people can be in the labs, resulting in many students having only about half as much lab time as they had pre-pandemic, according to this report.
