Miami Theatre Department streams readings of plays with underrepresented voices

Every Saturday in March starting March 6, the Miami University Theatre Department will host its Digital Reading Series, live streaming readings of plays that the COVID-19 pandemic has kept from being performed on stage.

The works have been carefully selected to provide unique perspectives on many contemporary moments, shining light on injustice and sharing stories from underrepresented voices.

The first reading will be “The Helpers,” by Maggie Lou Rader, a story of an immigrant employee of Otto Frank, who helped hide the Jewish family from the Nazis during the Holocaust.

You can learn more about the individual readings here. You can view the readings online through the Miami University’s College of Creative Arts YouTube channel
