Miami trustees approves six new areas of study

More than 30,400 students have already applied for acceptance to Miami this fall, according to a report to the university’s board of trustees Feb. 19. That is more than a 9 percent increase over the previous year.

At the same meeting, the board approved six new areas of study:

  • A major in hospitality in the bachelor of commerce program.
  • Two master’s programs, one in athletic training and one in esports management under the College of Education, Health and Society. Esports management also will come under the College of Creative Arts.
  • Two revised master’s programs, one in kinesiology, nutrition and health and one in sport leadership and management.
  • A master’s program in medical science for students seeking careers as physician assistants.
