Plein Air Painters on display until Dec. 7
December 4, 2020
Plein Air Painters of Oxford’s work is being displayed until Dec. 7, at the Oxford Community Art Center, 10 S. College Ave.
On display since Nov. 13, this in person exhibition features pieces with a strong emphasis on nature. The name comes from the French phrase “en plein air,” meaning “open (in full) air,” and references painting in the fresh air and openness of the outdoors.
Capturing the essence of light and color, the Oxford Plein Air group meet and paint weekly at locations around Oxford. On Tuesday mornings of spring, summer and fall, the group meets and produces pictures such as landscapes by local artist John Semiani.
During the winter season, the group moves to indoor locations. More information on the group and how to join it is available on the art center’s website.
