Oxford Observer starts third year with new website design

New+design.

The Oxford Observer has a new website design.

As it enters its third year of publication, The Oxford Observer is featuring a new look that will help us share more stories, pictures, videos and graphics with readers.

Students from Miami University’s Department of Media, Journalism & Film have been working on the new presentation with faculty over the past several weeks. When the fall semester starts in two weeks, two classes will be working on the site.

The editor, David Wells, teaches an advanced reporting and news writing class that produces the content you see in the Observer each week. Sacha DeVroomen Bellman teaches an editing & design class each Friday morning in which her 20 students edit the stories written by the reporting class and write headlines and captions before publishing the website.

A new issue is published each Friday afternoon at oxfordobserver.org.

The Observer’s mission is to provide accurate and timely local coverage of events, institutions and issues affecting the city of Oxford and the surrounding townships of the Talawanda School District.
