Miami will start semester online

Miami announced Monday it will start the semester online this fall.

Miami Provost Jason Osborne told faculty the university hopes to start face-to-face instruction Sept. 21.  Students will start moving into residence halls the week before. Upperclassmen have already started moving back to Oxford.

“We have made the difficult decision to begin undergraduate fall semester classes on time (August 17th) but remotely, delaying the beginning of the undergraduate on-campus residential (Oxford) experience and face-to-face instruction (Oxford and the Regional Campuses) until Monday, September 21, 2020,” Osborne wrote in an email. “ This will allow us to conclude on-campus operations (classes) prior to the week of Thanksgiving as originally planned.”
