The Safeguard American Voters Eligibility (SAVE) Act is meant to prevent non-citizens from voting in the next election season. However, it has received criticism from several organizations nationwide.
Millions of Americans may have trouble registering to vote due to the language used in the bill. This could affect many different groups of Americans, such as married women with a changed last name, deployed members of the military, students, residents in rural areas and older citizens.
The bill has been passed in the House of Representatives and has been sent to the Senate for a vote.
