Mayor William Snavely declared May 28 as Oxford Historic Preservation Day at the past city council meeting.
The proclamation is part of Oxford’s commitment to conserving history during National Preservation Month in May and is in coordination with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The theme for the day will be “Harnessing the Power of Place,” and activities in Oxford will include celebrating historical sites, offering interior tours and recognizing property owners who have helped with historic preservation.
