The Oxford City Council had a busy agenda at its May 6 meeting, including planning festival logistics, new mural projects and changes to the look of the city.
In addition, Mayor William Snavely proclaimed May 28 to be Oxford Historic Preservation Day.
The city announced plans for the Housing Advisory Commission to work with Empower Me Living to develop 5234 Hester Road and create an inclusive micro home neighborhood for those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
The council also approved new road drainage and sidewalk improvements to be installed on S. Locust Street, and recommended an additional BCRTA stop be added to the Knolls of Oxford to allow for more public transportation for residents.
Parts of High Street will be closed for the Oxford Craft Beer and Wine Festival May 31, and the council waived fees for closures and parking meter fees for the event.
