The Myaamia Center at Miami University hosted a lunch which celebrated the tribe’s culture and food for local people and students to enjoy. The event featured traditional cooking methods and ingredients to bring the Tribe’s culture together through their food.
The event featured many specialty Myaamia dishes such as Sautéed Kale and Spring Onions, Celery Root Mash, Butter Poached Wild Mushrooms, Herb Roasted Sunchokes, Blueberry BBQ Bison Meatballs and Spring Green Berry Salad. The event also had silverware, plates and cups labeled in the Myaamia language to teach those who joined the event about the tribe’s culture.
