In their first meeting of the 2025 season, the Talawanda Brave fell to the Harrison Wildcats 4-14 Monday night.
The latest defeat marked the team’s second loss in the Southwest Ohio Conference (SWOC) this season, while Harrison remains undefeated in SWOC play with a record of 8-0.
During Monday’s game, the Brave and the Wildcats were scoreless throughout the first two innings.
In the third, Talawanda answered first by scoring three runs. The lead was quickly cut when the Wildcats scored five runs in the home half.
The Wildcats added even more in the fourth by scoring six runs and the 11th unanswered run for Harrison in two innings.
Talawanda scored once more in the sixth, before Harrison scored three more to “run rule” the Brave.
Some top performers for the Brave were seniors Nathaniel Iden and Eddie Tanner.
Iden came up big for the Brave by striking out five Wildcats. He also went 1-2 and drove in two runs.
Tanner added another RBI for Talawanda by going 1-2.
In game two, the Brave fell to the Wildcats 2-13.
In the first inning Harrison scored seven runs and didn’t look back by scoring six in the fourth.
The Brave’s runs would come in both the third and fourth inning in Talawanda’s first home loss of the year.
Junior Ty Davie and Tanner each drove in RBIs and senior Micah Daniels struck out five Wildcats.
Talawanda is now second and 6-2 in the SWOC. The Brave’s next matchup will be on the road at Miami University against the Lebanon High School Warriors Saturday May 3. First pitch will be at 3 p.m.
