The Talawanda Brave baseball team is clicking on all cylinders.
In its last week, the Brave went 4-1 and most importantly, they secured two victories over Southwest Ohio Conference (SWOC) foe, the Northwest Knights.
In game one against the Knights on Wednesday, April 9, the Brave won 27-0 in its home opener. Five Brave batters recorded over three RBIs in a dominant victory.
In game two on Friday, April 11, Talawanda dominated Northwest 14-4.
Senior catcher, Hunter Griffin, led the team in RBIs with five and Junior Austin Puckett led the Brave on the mound with five strikeouts.
In its most recent game, the Brave beat the Edgewood Panthers 15-9 on Tuesday, April 15, in a non-conference match at home. That win marked Talawanda’s third in a row to improve to 4-6 overall.
The bats once again shined for Talawanda as Senior first-baseman Adam Achterman and third-baseman Nathaniel Iden each had three RBIs. Additionally senior Eddie Tanner was efficient, as he pitched four innings and struck out six Panthers.
The Brave’s next game will be on the road Wednesday April 16 against the Mount Healthy Fighting Owls, a SWOC opponent. First pitch will be at 5 p.m. in Mount Healthy.
