Area 13 strikes again with presenting a fun, family-friendly Easter egg hunt April 12. In efforts to commence the celebration of the Easter season, Area 13 of Oxford Township invites children to “hop on by” their fun easter egg hunt starting at noon.
Children should bring baskets to participate in the festivities and get ready for a special surprise from the Easter Bunny.
The now retired military base, Area 13, 6557 Todd Road, announced the staff will be hiding upward of 3,000 easter eggs and splitting the children into age brackets, said the office manager, Jessie VonStein.
To win the egg hunt, you must find the prize egg, which will be larger than the rest, said VonStein and each age bracket will get a chance to win.
“Then we’re doing an adult-only hunt after the kids wrap up and it’s going to be full contact… and whoever has the most eggs at the end will win $100,” said VonStein.
Area 13 has another surprise in store this Easter season, in addition to the easter egg hunt and the bunny’s surprise visit.
“We will be telling the story of Jesus and the resurrection at the event, which will be nice for the children to learn the whole story and whatnot,” said VonStein.
Registration for this event is free, and everyone is welcome to bask in the pre-Easter festivities! Check out Area 13 on Facebook for more information.
