
The Talawanda Brave Softball team entered Fort Walton, Florida, undefeated with a 3-0 record.
The Brave continued its winning streak in its first game Monday by beating the Hancock County Hornets 15-13, to improve to 4-0.
Senior Kylie Cobb shined as she went 3-4 at the plate with three RBIs and pitched 5.2 innings and struck out three. Other standouts were junior Audrey Hilbert, who was 2-4 with a pair of RBIs, and freshman Maddy Cox, who knocked in two RBIs.
In game two, Talawanda fell to the Ballard Bruins 4-14 to end its winning streak.
Key contributors in this contest were junior Kaylee Griffin, with two RBIs, and seniors Alice Morehead and Cobb, each with one RBI. Additionally, Cobb led the Brave in strikeouts with three on the circle.
The Brave will battle in the Sunshine State for two more games on April 2. Its first game is against the Oldham County Colonels at 9 a.m. and the Trinity Raiders at 11 a.m.
