Last week, Oxford Police responded to a burglary, a fight and multiple assaults around Oxford.
In the early hours of March 14, four men broke into a bedroom in the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity house through a first floor window. Inside, the men flipped and urinated on the bed, threw clothes and other items on the floor and broke a toilet seat and neon wall sign. Before the men left, they stole a flag that was hanging on the wall.
The man living in the room called police when he came home and discovered the mess. The police do not have suspects at this time.
On March 15, police responded to a report of an assault in Brick Street. A man was trying to move through the crowded bar when he put his hand on another man’s shoulder. The other man turned around and pushed the man who put his hand on his shoulder.
After this, multiple men shoved the victim and grabbed his arms before he was punched in the face. As he was being punched, one of the other men ripped his shirt. The police do not have suspects at this time.
On the same night, police responded to a large fight outside of Cocina Latina. Multiple men and women were involved and said that the fight started after one of the men was assaulted by another man. The man who started the fight ran off before police arrived, so no one has been arrested at this time.
Later that night, a group of five people flagged down police to report an assault. The group was sitting in front of Kofenya when they were approached by three men. One of the men said something, and the man in the group stood up to confront him.
Immediately after he stood up, one of the three men tackled him and began beating him. After this, the three men ran to their car and left the scene. No suspects are known at this time.
