Butler County performed 23 health inspections in the month of February.
Tea Cha House, 19 W. High St, received the most violations with seven critical and 12 non-critical violations. They received two violations for packaged and unpackaged food not being protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation. They also improperly stored cleaners, medication and chemicals around food items and food equipment. The inspector observed a blender pitcher, which was improperly repaired and a piece of tree log being used as a cutting board, according to staff according to the report. They will have a follow up inspection March 11.
Ramen Hachi, 17 W. Church St., received nine critical and six non-critical violations. The inspector observed the person in charge reheating pork with a torch to 130 degrees before placing it in the hot holding unit but was later discarded according to the report. The restaurant was cited with two violations of packaged and unpackaged food not being protected from contamination by separation, packaging and segregation. They were cited for storing food at an improper temperature, but all food that was in violation was thrown out.
Gaslight Brewhouse, 325 S. College Ave, received six critical and four non-critical violations. They corrected all but one critical violation during the inspection, according to the report. The violation not corrected was due to the restaurant using a non-continuous cooking process to cook chicken wings, which requires a written process, and they did not have one.
Patterson’s Cafe, 103 W. Spring St., also received six critical and four non-critical violations. One violation was due to improperly dated items in the wine cooler. They also had damaged storage containers and utensils that were later discarded. They corrected three of the critical violations.
