Talawanda High School’s National Honor Society is hosting an event called “Kids Night Out” for grades kindergarten through fifth grade from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 7. The event is free, but the organization will accept lightly used book donations for Lane Library.
The NHS will show the Disney movies “Cars” and “Tangled.” It will have foursquare, cornhole, basketball and football in the gym, as well as coloring, word searches, friendship bracelet kits and card games. NHS members will paint faces and supervise the kids during the event.
“Kids Night Out” will also provide various snacks, including allergy-free options if specified by parents in the sign-up.
According to Allyson Klovekorn, a math teacher at the high school, NHS and Talawanda faculty want to have a safe, fun get-together for kids in the community, while giving parents time for themselves.
