The McCullough-Hyde Foundation gave out $94,300 in grants to local organizations on Feb. 18. Several Oxford groups received funding, which is meant to address health needs in the area.
This funding is given out as part of the McCullough-Hyde Foundation’s Community Granting Program. Local community organizations have received almost $600,000 from the foundation in the past two years.
This year, the following Oxford community organizations benefited from funding:
- Oxford Seniors received $25,000 to provide transportation options for local seniors and adults with disabilities.
- Talawanda Middle School received $12,500 to give equipment and training for a new cycling program and club.
- Talawanda Athletic Boosters received $10,200 to update the fields and facilities at Darrtown Park.
- Thread Up Oxford received $300 to expand their clothing voucher program.
Several other groups nearby obtained funding, including some in Butler County. Seven of the 12 approved organizations are located in Butler County, where the foundation’s headquarters are located.
It has three more funding cycles on April. 15, Aug. 15 and Dec. 15, and offers opportunities for additional community organizations to receive grants.
