Oxford Police responded to reports of domestic violence, assault, suspicious activity and theft between Feb. 10 and Feb. 17.
On Feb. 10, police responded to a student who reported multiple instances of a man following her and members of her household. Police searched the area, but no one matching the description was found.
On the night of Feb. 12, officers were called to an apartment on Indian Trace Drive in response to domestic violence in progress. A guardian and child fought over a cellphone and the guardian was taken to Butler County Jail on domestic violence charges.
On Feb. 14, police responded to a report of a man who was assaulted with a 10-pound weight by his son at the Parkview Arms Apartments. The victim sustained major lacerations to the head and was taken to the hospital. Police arrested the suspect who was taken to Butler County Jail.
Police filed three reports of theft around Oxford. On Feb. 10, officers responded to the victim of a package theft in The Courtyards of Miami apartments. On Feb. 12, a maintenance worker reported three air conditioning condensing units stolen from two locations on College Corner Pike. The unit’s electrical disconnect units and refrigeration lines were cut, and each unit is worth $2,000. On the early morning of Feb. 16, a report was filed at the police station for a coat stolen at Brick Street. No suspects are known for any of these cases.
