This week, the Oxford Police Department reported a rape and an assault case, three cases of theft. The police also arrested a man wanted for resisting arrest.
At 12:40 a.m., Nov. 17, police were informed that a female subject was sexually assaulted while at a party. After the victim talked with a man known to her in a private area, she attempted to leave. He stopped her and sexually assaulted her. This incident happened on Southpointe Parkway.
At 2:58 a.m., Nov. 15, a report was taken of a group of individuals being pepper sprayed by an unknown individual for no apparent reason on North Poplar Street.
At 2:39 p.m., Nov. 13, an unknown suspect accessed the victim’s paycheck account and changed the banking information to facilitate the theft of his paycheck.
Officers responded to South Main Street for a theft report at 3:44 p.m., Nov. 16. A parking meter cover was taken overnight. A report was taken, but there are no suspects at this time.
The third theft was recorded at 10:43 p.m., as two subjects stole over $9 of merchandise from a local business on College Corner Pike. Subjects are frequent customers that shop at this business.
At 8:01 p.m., Nov. 15, officers found a wanted person in the 5200 block of College Corner Pike. The individual was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and escape.
