Miami University’s Willard Sherman Turrell Herbarium hosts “Halloween in the Herbarium,” from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Located in room 079 of Upham Hall, 100 Bishop Circle, visitors can see the spooky, poisonous plants which reside in the herbarium and snack on Halloween-themed treats.
According to Miami University’s website, the herbarium houses more than 600,000 vascular plants, algae, mosses, fungi and other dried and pressed specimens, along with various special collections. Some collections date back to the late 18th century. The herbarium is the largest in the state.
