As the fall 2024 sports season at Talawanda High School draws to a close, with only regionals remaining for cross country and football finishing its final games against Mt. Healthy and Wheeling, four varsity teams brought home South West Ohio Conference (SWOC) tournament trophies after their season-long performances.
Talawanda girls volleyball finished as the 2024 SWOC champions. Senior players include Bailey Oakes, Kylie Cobb, Anna Warner and McKenna Johnson.
Talawanda girls varsity tennis finished their season as 2024 SWOC champions. Abby Curry, junior first singles, was named Player of the Year, and Coach Silberstein was named Coach of the Year. Layla Fitzsche and Julie Page received first-team All-Conference honorees.
The boys and girls varsity cross-country teams both won the 2024 SWOC championship. Adriana Luking and Bryson Fears were named Runners of the Year, and Coach Oberschlake took home Coach of the Year honors for both teams.
The remaining sports include boys varsity soccer, which went 4-10-3, and girls varsity soccer, which went 7-8-1. Boys varsity golf finished sixth in the OHSAA Sectional Tournament.
