Oxford will have its annual Leaf Pick Up Program starting Monday, Oct. 14, through Dec. 20, weather permitting.
Residents who would like the city to take away any excess leaves in their yard must rake the leaves into the gutter for city crews to come and clean up. These leaves can be raked to the yellow, “no parking” zones in streets that have heavy street parking, to prevent obstruction to anyone looking to park their car.
The city asks that anyone participating in this service to avoid raking the leaves into a bike lane or anywhere that may obstruct traffic. Instead, aim for the tree lawn – the area between the curb and the sidewalk. Also avoid putting brush into the leaf piles. Residents should bundle the brush and leave it out for regular curbside yard pick up. The city asks that residents do not park their vehicles on top of leaf piles.
