Talawanda opened up applications for a school board member position after one of the members recently resigned because of harassment.
Earlier this month, former school board member David Bothast resigned effective immediately. In his resignation letter, Bothast said his child was harassed at school. “This incredibly difficult decision has become unavoidable due to the relentless, uncivilized, and personal attacks against my family and me, fueled by and directly intertwined with attempts to unseat the current superintendent.”
The school board announced it will be searching for a candidate to fill Bothast’s position for the next 15 months.
Interested candidates will have until Sept. 24 to respond to the posting. For more information on the application process, please visit Talawanda’s district blog.
