The City of Oxford’s division of police is hosting an event showcasing a young adult program designed to show career opportunities in law enforcement from 3 to 5 p.m on Sunday Sept. 15 at the Oxford Police Department.
This two-hour event will include food, a tour of the police station, and an introduction to the program.
The Public Safety Cadet program is open to individuals ages 14 to 20 to learn about the duties of law enforcement officers. Some topics include traffic stops, traffic crashes, defensive tactics, building searches, crime scenes, evidence collection, report writing, testifying in court, and hostage negotiations.
