The Oxford Community Arts Center will host this month’s Second Friday Celebration of the Arts on Sept. 13.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a gallery reception to take place in the first floor galleries. Attendees have a chance to meet the featured artists, Ishita Islam, Katy Abbott and Rosemary Fisher. The exhibit itself is described as mixed mediums according to OCAC’s website.
The gallery will have a lively display of visuals, textures, colors and techniques.
Following the gallery reception, there will be a concert at 7:30 p.m. in the ballroom. Musical group Linus Tate will take the stage, accompanying the artwork on display. Additionally, special guest Ella Cope is set to join the band.
The band defines itself as a combination of genres such as rock, pop, roots and americana, covering a wide range of artists that includes Tom Petty, The Eagles, Chris Stapleton and more. According to the group, its dynamic sound appeals to people of all ages.
.Attendees also have the opportunity to meet the Oxford Community Arts Center’s resident artists in their third floor studio spaces as well as browse the OCAC’s art shop, which sells a variety of creations from local artists. The event is free to the public.
