Between April 22 and 28, the Oxford Police Department responded to 18 incidents, including four cases of theft, two warrant arrests, a burglary, and two cases of an underage person driving while under the influence.
On April 23 at 5:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary. The caller said over the phone that they heard an unknown subject inside their residence. Officers conducted a search of the residence and did not locate anyone. There is no information on the subject at this time.
The following day at 6:44 p.m., police responded to a residence for a report of a stolen package. The victim stated that the package contained an Apple iPhone 15.
On April 26 at 8:01 a.m., OPD responded to a theft of a white 2014 Ford Focus. The vehicle was stolen from the 500 block of S. Main Street on April 25. There are no current suspects at this time.
Later that day at 12:10 p.m., officers stopped a male for having active warrants. The male suspect was found to have suspected narcotics in his possession. Charges are still pending and the narcotics will be sent to the lab for analysis.
On April 27 at 4:13 p.m., police arrived at the scene of a vehicle crash on the 0 block of N. Locust Street. The at-fault driver was subsequently arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.
Later that day at 5:52 p.m., a male came into the OPD lobby to report a theft. The suspect was located and after a short investigation, she was arrested for theft and obstruction.
On April 28 at 2:50 a.m., OPD stopped a 20-year-old driver for a stop sign violation. The driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested for OVI and underage offenses.
That same night at 5:16 a.m., a dispute was called in on two men fighting. One of the men involved in the fight was found to have a warrant out of Warren County. The male was transported and exchanged with Warren County deputies.
