The Oxford NAACP’s annual Freedom Fund Banquet is scheduled for 5 p.m. April 21 at Miami University’s Shriver Center. All proceeds will go toward scholarships for graduating Talawanda High School students.
The event will feature speaker Woodrow Keown Jr., president and COO of the National Underground Railroad Center. Keown’s speech, titled “Your Vote: Protecting Freedom and Democracy,” according to a press release, will begin following a cash bar reception.
During the program, a buffet will be served and recognition will be made to local diversity educators and new NAACP life members.
