The McCullough-Hyde Women’s Giving Circle announced last week that it approved $31,000 in grants to four organizations impacting women and children in Oxford.
College Corner Union Elementary School was awarded $10,000 to restart its Backpack Program, which gives students meals on weekends.
The Center for Rape and Abuse Emergency services received $8,000 to support the CARES Program, which provides free medical and support services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking and elder abuse.
Oxford Free Clinic received $8,000 to increase healthcare services provided as part of the Women’s Free Clinic.
PARACHUTE, a program that provides court appointed special advocates for children who enter the child welfare system due to allegations of abuse or neglect, received $5,000.
The McCullough-Hyde Women’s giving circle is a group of women who pool donations together and vote on how best to disperse the money. Members must donate at least $1,000 each year to take part. The program was launched in 2022 and has given away more than $43,000 to date. Additional information about the organization can be found here.
