Jarrid Baldwin, the Myaamia language coordinator at the Myaamia Center, George Ironstrack, assistant director of the Myaamia Center, and Kara Strass, director of Miami Tribe relations, will be sharing aahlhsoohkaana ‘winter stories’ at King Library on Feb. 15 from 3 – 4:00 p.m in room 320.
Baldwin, Ironstrack and Strass will read stories in both English and Myaamiaataweenki — the Myaamia language — and provide context for winter stories.
According to the Myaamia Center, these stories are only told in the wintertime to demonstrate respect for animals in hibernation or those that migrated for the season.
