Miami University Symphony Orchestra will celebrate its 120th anniversary with a free holiday concert on Dec. 2 at Hall Auditorium.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. and will feature music from famous movies, in an audiovisual performance that combines the movie soundtracks with video excerpts. Film soundtracks include “Polar Express,” “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Cinema Paradiso.”
According to a news release, a highlight of the concert will be the preview of the composition “Defiance” by Martin Hebel. According to the composer, this composition celebrates the values of diversity and inclusion to which the world’s interconnected societies aspire.
