Between Sept. 11 and Sept. 17, Oxford Police responded to several reports of theft and assault.
On Sept. 11, a number of thefts from motor vehicles were reported in a neighborhood at the 100-block of Country Club Drive and are currently under investigation.
At 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 13, a woman reported her purse was stolen from her porch at the 200-block of E. Church St. and that her debit card had been used at a gas station.
During a traffic stop on the same day, police discovered the driver was carrying four fake Pennsylvania IDs. He was charged accordingly.
At 3 p.m. on Sept. 14, a student reported a physical altercation with his roommate after a verbal argument the night prior. At this time, he is not pressing criminal charges.
At 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 15, a woman was found slumped over and held up by a friend on the 10-block of N. Poplar St. She was transported to the hospital and has been summoned for underage drinking, disorderly conduct and possession of a fake ID.
At 6:00 p.m. later that day, an individual reported his license plate was missing from his car. He does not know if it was stolen or fell off.
At 9:00 p.m. on Sept. 16, police responded to a vehicle fire at the 700-block of S. Locust St. The owner of the vehicle was found intoxicated inside an apartment nearby and admitted to starting the fire with a lit cigarette. She was charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic and sent to the Butler County Jail.
At 2:00 a.m on Sept. 17, a male was found intoxicated in the Oxford Municipal parking lot next to a car. He was released to a friend and has been summoned for underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
At 5:45 a.m. of the same day, an individual was assaulted while walking home from work on E. Chestnut Street and Maple Avenue.
