Election Day in Ohio for municipal, township and school board elections is next Tuesday, Nov. 5. The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
To check your voting status, go to the website VoteOhio.gov and click on the “Check My Registration” tab on the home page.
The voter registration deadline for next week’s elections has passed, but the deadline to request an absentee ballot is Nov. 2, and the deadline to return the completed absentee ballot is Nov. 5.
Moving forward, the deadline to register for the March 10, 2020 Ohio Primary is Feb. 10, 2020. The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the primary is March 7, and absentee ballots for the primary need to be returned by 7:30 p.m., March 10.
To vote, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be an Ohio resident
- Be 18 by election day
- If you are a student, you can register to vote from your campus address or your parent’s address.
- If you are in line at the polling place on Election Day before 7:30 p.m., you are entitled to vote.
