Latin jazz artist Néstor Torres will perform a free concert at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Parrish Auditorium at Miami’s Hamilton campus.
Torres, a longtime student, composer and artist in both classical and jazz has earned five Grammy nominations and one Latin Grammy win. Besides his solo work, Torres has worked with artists including Gloria Estefan, Kenny Loggins and Dave Matthews.Torres’ most recent jazz album, “Dominican Suite,” is dedicated to the beauty of the Dominican Republic, its people and culture. Torres is currently working on another album expected to be released later this year.
The concert was scheduled in recognition of Hispanic American Heritage Month.
