Between Aug. 28 and Sept. 4, Oxford Police responded to multiple reports of theft, unresponsive persons, driving while under the influence and drug possession.
At 8:45 a.m. Aug. 28, officers responded to a call to West Chestnut Street and South College Avenue and found a person lying face down and unable to communicate. The Oxford Fire Department transported the person to TriHealth McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
At 3 a.m. Aug. 29, a man crashed his vehicle at West Sycamore Street and Brown Road and was found to be intoxicated by officers. He was arrested for driving while under the influence.
At 12:45 p.m. Aug. 29, a person was found unresponsive from a suspected overdose in the Arby’s restroom.
Oxford Police also responded to several reported thefts. At 9:45 p.m. Sept. 1, a Jimmy John’s car topper was stolen on East High Street.
On Sept. 2, a resident of the 100-block of Kelly Drive reported stolen firearms to the police. Officers took a report but do not have any suspects.
At 2:40 a.m. Sept. 3, a fight took place outside Jimmy John’s on East High Street.
At 4:30 a.m. Sept. 4, a juvenile found vomiting outside the police department was cited for underage consumption of alcohol and disorderly conduct before being released to her parents.
