Grant to help Miami geography department increase connections with local farmers

Five organizations will receive a total of $23,364 in environmental education grants from the Ohio EPA.

The Miami University Geography department will receive $4,164 to increase farmer and landowner connection to the watershed in Butler and Preble counties.

CIPTT, Inc. will receive $5,000 to support an environmental education program for disabled children.

Hamilton to New Baltimore Groundwater Consortium will receive $5,000 to purchase signs along the Great Miami River Bike Path to encourage keeping drinking water safe.

Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners will receive $5,000 to promote the history and importance of the creek to the community.

Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District will receive $4,200 to build two models explaining wetlands and the hazardous waste enviroscape.

Organizations can apply for grants for projects between $500 and $5,000. Letters of intent are due by July 10, and applications are due by July 17.
