The Miami University Steel Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 14 in Hall Auditorium with special guest Andre White.

White began teaching himself music when he was 6 years old. According to his biography online, he joined the Long Island based ADLIB Steel Orchestra after seeing his babysitter’s son performing in the group. He has been performing ever since. 

White is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has won several awards in steelpan competitions. As described in a press release, White’s “talent is such that hearing him perform, even once, will change the way you perceive clarity and fluidity on the instrument.”
