New Testament scholar to speak on its historical reliability

Guest speaker Craig Blomberg will lecture on “The Historical Reliability of the New Testament” at 8 p.m. April 15 in the Heritage Room at the Shriver Center.

Blomberg is a scholar of the New Testament at Denver Seminary in Colorado. He has published multiple books “that bridge the gap between religious and scholastic studies,” according to a press release from the Greater Oxford Community Foundation.

The foundation administers a fund established in the name of former Miami history professor Edwin Yamauchi “to allow visiting lecturers to come speak at Miami University’s Oxford campus, creating dialogue between evangelical Christianity and sound academic scholarship,” according to the press release.

The lecture series is also supported by the Miami Department of History, campus religious organizations and several local churches.
