OPD arrests Cincinnati man in robbery of PlayStation 5

Oxford police responded to a robbery call March 14 at Hawk’s Landing.  

A person told police he agreed to sell his PlayStation 5 on Facebook Marketplace to a man named Amarius Gates, 20, of Cincinnati. The victim told police Gates used the name Ace and said he was a Miami football player.

The two met, and Gates threatened the victim with a gun.

The victim handed over the PlayStation and his phone.

Police located Gates at the Baymont Inn on College Corner Pike. The police found the gun used in the robbery in his car.

Police recommended charges of aggravated robbery and theft. As of March 16 he was booked in Butler County Jail.
