Oxford Seniors’ Meals on Wheels will participate in the 21st annual March for Meals. March for Meals is a month-long celebration that occurs every March.

The event honors the anniversary of President Richard Nixon signing a measure to amend the Older Americans Act of 1965 to include a national nutrition program in 1972.

The Oxford Seniors’ celebration includes activities such as the first “March for Meals Hike” on Friday, March 31. Individuals who register by March 17 and commit to raising a minimum of $20 in pledges will receive a T-shirt.

March for Meals will also celebrate Champions’ Week from March 19-24. This event will invite community leaders to do volunteer work.
