From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 19, Audubon Miami Valley will celebrate the last day of winter with a field trip to Gilmore Ponds MetroPark.

Gilmore Ponds is one of the top birding destinations in Butler County and is recognized as an Important Bird Area by Audubon.

Mid-March is especially appealing for experienced birders, with native species becoming outnumbered by migrating ducks.

Everyone is welcome to participate. They will need good walking shoes, personal water, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

Everyone planning on attending must meet in the parking lot of Gilmore Ponds at 9:00 a.m. If attendees choose to participate in an informal picnic, they must bring their own personal lunch.

For more information email the field trip coordinator at [email protected].
