Restaurants receive critical health violations

Since Feb. 8, Butler County General Health District reviewed 10 Oxford eateries, citing four establishments with critical violations.

The businesses cited for health violations are as follows:

  • Yum Yum Chinese Restaurant, 24 E. Park Place, inspected Feb. 8, was cited with six critical and seven non-critical violations. Critical violations include a lack of knowledge of food safety, improper use of the hand sink, cross-contamination of food, cold foods being held at the wrong temperature and the presence of insects and other pests. All critical violations, except the last, were corrected at the time of the inspection.
  • Doughby’s, 36 W. High St., inspected Feb. 8, was cited with two critical and two non-critical violations. Critical violations include unclean food utensils and surfaces and cold foods not being held at the proper temperature. Both critical violations were corrected at the time of the inspection.
  • Kroger, 300 S. Locust St, inspected Feb. 9, was cited with three critical and five non-critical violations. Critical violations include an inaccessible hand sink, poor conditions of food packaging and incorrect temperature and/or concentration of sanitizing solution. All critical violations, except the last, were corrected at the time of the inspection.
  • Paesano’s Pasta House, 308 S. Campus Ave., inspected Feb. 10, was cited with one critical and three non-critical violations. The critical violation, which was corrected during the inspection, was for unclean food utensils and surfaces.
